Retro-vintage inspiration in an apartment renovation

The beneficiary, a young man, wanted to renovate the apartment in the most modern and functional style. The project developed from the chromatic vision proposed by the architect – tones of petrol blue and black and white, which would become a background for metallic and glamorous accents. The central part of the house, both in terms of compartmentalization and the interaction of design elements, is the living space. Here, the wall painted in petroleum blue stands out, highlighted by decorative profiles, leather and natural fur inserts, as well as metal accents. The effect is extremely well coordinated: the resulting space is spectacular, but also relaxing and welcoming.

Furthermore, the living room is also the favorite space of the beneficiary, who appreciates the contrast of the wall with the silver notes.

The challenge was to overcome hesitation about intense colors and bold accents, combining them in a way to create a space that was out of the ordinary, and in no way kitsch.

The narrow shape of the kitchen was one of the challenges of this project. The custom furniture incorporates Franke appliances and Blum accessories.

The shade of petroleum blue is also found in the kitchen, a space marked by the fusion of modern and classic. The texture of the furniture facades is emphasized by the black handles and plant elements. The white exposed brick cladding is another homage to the retro style. Although small in size, the space also includes a breakfast spot.

The master bedroom is made up of various precious elements: the natural leather carpet, the brass bedside tables, the coconut wood table. Their assembly creates an original space, reminiscent of the comfort of a hotel room.

The guest bedroom has a metal four-poster bed. Its raw look is tempered by warm and welcoming textures.

The bathrooms have been finished with natural and neutral tones. In the main bathroom, the tiles in light, warm tones contrast with the wood-look cladding.

The minimalist bathroom is equipped with Ravak and Dalet sanitary ware, more precisely Ideal Standard faucets.

This renovation project successfully demonstrates how a clear design vision can transform an apartment into a modern, functional, and visually striking living space. Guided by the architect’s chromatic concept—centered on petrol blue, black, and white—the interior achieves a refined balance between boldness and harmony. These tones serve as a sophisticated backdrop that allows metallic and glamorous accents to stand out without overwhelming the space.

The living area, as the heart of the home, plays a crucial role in defining the overall atmosphere. The petrol blue feature wall, enhanced with decorative profiles, becomes the focal point, adding depth and personality. The integration of materials such as leather, natural fur, and metal introduces texture and contrast, elevating the design while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. Each element has been carefully selected to contribute to both style and comfort.

What makes this project particularly successful is its ability to combine visual impact with functionality. Despite its luxurious and dramatic appearance, the space remains inviting and practical for everyday living. The thoughtful arrangement of elements ensures that the apartment is not only aesthetically pleasing but also comfortable and livable.

In conclusion, this interior design project highlights the power of color, texture, and material selection in creating a harmonious and contemporary environment. By blending elegance with functionality, it results in a space that is both spectacular and welcoming, perfectly suited to modern urban living.
