When we talk about interior effect finishes, we are specifically referring to the walls, but we must not forget the ceiling. And because they say the difference is in the details, when it comes to the ceiling we will take into account the installation of polystyrene rosette.

So if you want to add that extra touch of style, a sleek looking finish, don’t forget that decorative profiles are an option. To mount polystyrene rosette of the ceiling, means decorating the ceiling with classic decorative elements, but which will always be “in fashion”, regardless of the design style approached.

They are used polystyrene rosette from the ceiling to attach chandeliers in the middle in larger rooms and pendants or ceiling lights in smaller rooms. Additionally, they are used polystyrene rosette and with other decorative profiles.

Although the finishes belong to the last stages of the construction of a house, whether houses or buildings, they can concern the exterior or the interior. These include polystyrene profiles, plinths, belts, cornices, frames, door and window frames, but also exist for ceilings, decorative borders, beams, 3D panels, domes and rosettes.

Polystyrene rosettes – elegance in addition to interior design

  • The decorative ceiling roses are made of polystyrene or polyurethane and are attached simply and quickly using a specialist adhesive.
  • Ceiling roses can be painted any color using a solvent-free paint.
  • They are easy to maintain by dusting them with a soft cloth.
  • Choose a simple model of rosettes ceiling, they will harmonize in any room or space, even the smallest.
  • Rosettes can beautify the anchor of a chandelier, but they can also add sophistication without an imposing fixture.

How to choose polystyrene rosettes for the ceiling

The decorative rosette belongs to the category of those interior designs which can completely change the appearance of a room. You have at your disposal polystyrene rosette which are easy to process, mount and paint.

It is worth taking into account a few criteria when decorating using this architectural detail:

  • A first element to consider is size. A good standard diameter should be approximately the same size as the fixture. The rosette can only be larger if the ceilings are much higher to balance the diameter.
  • In terms of style, it is recommended to take into account other architectural elements of interior design. In a room with simple architectural elements, a colonial-style rose window fits very well thanks to its conservative lines. In a vintage, romantic decor or a combination of styles, a traditional rose window with floral patterns fits very well.
  • Contemporary furniture can be combined with a classic rosette, as a contrast is created that accentuates both elements.
  • For those who like the idea of having one polystyrene rosette from the ceiling, but you only want a light accent, because there are other interesting details in the room, you can choose a simple rosette without a pattern.
  • To further highlight the interior decorations used, the accent can also be done through color. You can color the rosette entirely or only partially with a color different from that of the ceiling field. This color is also found in other decorative profiles of the room.
  • The center of the rosette is usually cut out to leave room for the light fixture. It is therefore recommended, when purchasing the rosette, to ensure that the cutout corresponds to the luminaire.
  • I am usually polystyrene rosette from the ceiling in a circular shape. They are the most common and most often used, especially for wide or almost square rooms. For smaller, rectangular pieces with a great effect, you should use oval or rhombic rosettes.

What are the advantages of decorative polystyrene rosettes?

Decorative rosettes they are decorative profiles of different sizes and designs and can be used to personalize a room, but also to hide certain unsightly errors in the finishes.

  • It gives style and elegance to the house and the room in particular.
  • They are mounted easily, after installation they can be finished and painted in any color.
  • They usually come in an existing state of primer, with final paint setting immediately.
  • These are elements of a very light material and easy to handle.
  • They have a favorable price, due to the material in which they are made, polystyrene or polyurethane.

How can the ceiling be decorated with decorative profiles

  • A low ceiling is decorated with polystyrene rosette approximately the diameter of the lamp. It can be combined with a cornice at the level between the wall and the ceiling or in more particular cases with a chest. The hood can hide pipes or electrical cables, possibly an ambient lighting system near the ceiling.
  • A ceiling of low or medium height, from 250 to 380 cm, in a spacious room can have a border around the walls at a certain distance, on the ceiling, decorative belts and borders.
  • For high ceilings, greater than 380 cm, several types of ceiling decorations can be made, regardless of the design style approached. Ceiling “boxing”, with beams or even borders, is very common, and the ceiling is divided into rectangular or square areas. In such areas, even smaller blind rosettes can be placed in the middle, i.e. without a lamp. If it is not very complicated, such a ceiling can be very visually pleasing.
  • Often the area around the rosette can be covered up to the edge with wallpaper, photo wallpaper or even a mirror. If in the atmosphere of the living room or dining room the mirror helps to amplify the light, in the case of a bedroom the wallpaper on the ceiling can create a more intimate atmosphere.
  • In the case of a two or three level ceiling, which involves one or two lines of ambient lighting, we choose that the area with the most decorations is towards the center if this area is single or if the area next to the wall is continuous, we choose that here the ceiling is more decorated with friezes that follow the contour of the wall. If the shape of the room is square, the ceiling can also be divided into radial zones, which emphasize the evenness of the walls of the room.
