Find out how we transformed an ugly old house into a seaside paradise

Beach house interior decor

Decorating a house is always an exciting part of a renovation. While the entire architectural process of transforming a home, from insulation to modernizing the space, is crucial, decorating is what truly brings a space to life, giving it a unique personality.

MOYO was responsible for the entire renovation and decoration of this beach house in Miramar. It started out as an outdated and very disorganized house and the aim was to make it a comfortable and modern house.

See in the video below how we transformed an old, ugly house into a seaside paradise.

The concept of the house was inspired by the sea since it is a vacation home close to the sea. For this house, an in-depth study of well-connected spaces was developed. We created a Open spacespacious so that the space is full of natural light and gives the home a fresher and cleaner environment. In the dining room we use light tones and light wood furniture.

Sometimes and when it makes sense for real reasons, MOYO reuses existing furniture. This was the case with this blue piece of furniture which was in very good condition, so Moyo recovered it and reused it to decorate the dining area. He painted it light blue and, to complete it, he used decorative elements reminiscent of the sea and the beach.

Our goal was to create a modern and comfortable bedroom that at the same time reminds us of the idea of the beach. For this, we use bright colors like blue and orange in the cushions. Additionally, we made sure it received plenty of natural light.

Here is the before and after of one of the partitions of the house which became a living room. We took advantage of the stairs and some furniture in perfect condition for decoration.

Living space – AFTER

In its decorations, moyo always likes to preserve the stories and personality of the spaces. So we took advantage of some relics that are part of the history of this house and the pieces were used and used as decorative elements in the space, including this wooden log from 1951 that hangs on the stairs that was used by the owner of the house to stretch his back.

For the decoration of this holiday home we based ourselves on the concept of the beach, for this we used different shades of aqua blue and fresh, bright colors that remind us of summer, heat and well-deserved vacations.
Here are some decorative details of the beach house.

The rooms were very disorganized and quite outdated. The creative design process was to make them simpler, more organized, with a decorative touch enjoy a softer, fresher environment (Beach Chic) and with lots of light, because we believe that a space like this deserves lots of natural light.

For this room we used shades of rock color which give the space a more feminine atmosphere. It’s a single room so we added a white desk. Everything is very simple and clear.

For this double bedroom we used a blue duvet, it was designed to be a single bedroom, spacious, fresh, easy to store and organize.

The bathrooms were very outdated and disused, definitely in need of renovation and modernization. Always thinking of the beach concept, moyo decorated this bathroom in shades of blue and black.

In this guest bathroom we used wood to create a simpler, cleaner and more modern environment.
