We were in Paris, the world capital of decoration, in the charming districts of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, rue du Mail and Place Saint-Sulpice, to Decor disabled: THEevent dedicated to textile design during which more than 150 editors open the doors of their workshops to discover the new collections in preview. Immersing yourself in this world of creativity and stylistic research is a unique experience, allowing us to capture valuable information to share with you.
An atmosphere of charm and creativity
Our immersion in the bustling climate of Paris began with breakfast at La Pré aux Clercs, a delicious, postcard-like French patisserie: the inviting scent of coffee and pain au chocolat immediately transported us into the right mood, giving us a taste of typically Parisian elegance.
Walking among the historic buildings is a pleasure in itself: elegant facades, ancient gates and alleys that encapsulate the charm of a city rich in history and art. But during these days dedicated to Paris Deco Off, everything transforms even more. Store windows are filled with precious fabrics, color swatches and unprecedented patterns, while details stand out in a multitude of eye-catching hues. It’s like getting lost in an open-air museum, where every corner reveals a fragment of creativity.
The streets themselves are adorned with large fabric lampshades hanging from the lamp posts, creating a fairytale atmosphere. At every step, we encounter installations created by editors: arches of multicolored fabrics, mannequins covered in bold prints or real works of textile art that tell fascinating stories. We let ourselves be guided by curiosity and enter the workshops to discover new decors, touch the materials and breathe the contagious energy of an event that celebrates beauty in all its forms.
